The bed bug is oval, wingless insects that have rusty brown skin colour and around 4 to 5 mm long when they are fully grown, which enables them to stow away on narrow cracks and crevices. They are blood-feeding insects that like to bite humans but will also benefit themselves from other warm-blooded animals. As their name suggests, this pest gets its name from the fact that it is generally found in close proximity to beds due to their needs of the blood of warm-blooded animals to survive. Although, bedrooms are not the only place where bed bugs can be a concern–any place that humans sit, rest or sleep can be a place that bed bugs are introduced or feed.
Bed bugs are some of the most challenging pests to exterminate from your property. They hide in mattresses, cushions, sofas, and other dark places. Bed bugs feed on blood, often biting people when they are asleep. While the bites aren’t painful, they can be itchy and irritating. Some people have a severe allergic reaction to bed bug bites, but most only experience a few bumps. At Sydneys Pest Control Xterminator, we know how to remove bed bugs from your property permanently effectively.
Bed bugs are troublesome household pests – they can pose potential health risks for you and your family. Bed bugs can mature in about 35 days. They then live about seven to 12 months. This makes rooting out a bed bug infestation or a bed bug removal process difficult to the untrained eye. Additionally, bed bugs’ hiding spots are hard to find. Hence, professional help is required…

Bed Bugs Services
Our professional bed bug treatment consists of a thorough examination and careful extermination. We use proven techniques like active chemical agents, heat treatment, and bed bug traps to remove these unwanted pests from your property. Our goal is to exterminate them at every point of their lifecycle to reduce the chances of reoccurrence.
If the removal isn’t thorough, the infestation will come back. Hidden bed bug eggs will hatch and cause problems a few months down the line. We always try to remove adult, nymphs, and eggs of this pest to ensure you don’t have to face them again. Sometimes extermination requires multiple treatments every few months to be effective. Don’t try to exterminate bed bugs on your own. Over-the-counter solutions aren’t effective, and using at-home heat treatments can be dangerous. We offer affordable and reliable bed bug removal that will remove these pests from your home completely.
Bed Bugs in Our Environment
Beg bugs are a public health pest that has plagued us for many centuries. These parasites thrive in human environments as they feed on blood. Bed bugs are transported into your property unwittingly via luggage, backpacks, and suitcases. Once settled, the population grows quite rapidly, working their way through cavities in the walls and floors. From there, they conceal themselves in sofas, picture frames, beds, curtains, radios, smoke detectors, behind baseboards, between sheets of loose wallpaper, and more. Tell-tale signs of bed bugs include droppings (dark patches on sheets, skins or cuticles) and/or tiny bloodstains or spots on sheets.
Bed Bug Control
Once the room is prepared, the technician will inspect the affected rooms, vacuum the infested areas, and apply a mist spray and/or dust application where they see fit.
This usually includes floor surfaces, edges, cracks and joints in walls, furniture and fixtures, bed head and bed base, mattress and other upholstery.
Precautions Before and After Treatment
Prior to our treatment, we recommend that all bed linen, mattress protectors, pillows etc. are removed and placed directly into a plastic bag for transfer to the laundry. Do not forget to check any drapes/curtains, looking carefully at the top tapes and folds. Do not leave bagged items for long, but wash as soon as possible in hot water (must exceed 60°C). We also recommend vacuuming thoroughly (around edges, fixtures, around/in mattress crease/edges).
The floor area in general should also be vacuumed. After the treatment, the room needs to be well ventilated and cannot be re-occupied until treatment has settled and dried. Clean only minimally for the first 10-14 days to prevent removal of residual treatment. Do not vacuum and do not clean closer than 15cm from floor edges.
